We’re away…..

We hope everyone had a fantastic 4th of July. We have a wedding this Saturday which may just be the theme of the year. Want a hint? The bride may be late……Following that, at 6AM Sunday we are heading to upstate NY for a wedding at White Pine Camp that is going to have some gorgeous scenery. Unfortunately (or maybe not), there will not be any cell phone or internet where we are staying (GASP). Soooo…. we will be out of touch until Friday July 11. If you have a pick-up scheduled, Wesley’s mom will be holding down the Leytham fort and make sure everything goes as planned. We will have lots of goodies for you to see on the blog again soon.

Erin & Eric on Pensacola Beach

So Erin and Eric came all the way down from Ohio for a beautiful afternoon wedding on Pensacola Beach. We had such a blast with these two. They knew from the beginning how important photography was to them, and we are so glad they chose us. They actually factored in over an hour after the ceremony just so we could play and make lots of pictures before dinner and wedding cake at the Portofino Resort.. Their family was superb, and I can say it was probably one of the most relaxed, intimate weddings we have photographed. Our thanks to everyone there for being such a joy to be around. Here are just a few of the many to come soon…….

Where in the world are……..?

So everyone hum the theme to “Where in the World is Matt Lauer” while we go through this new REALLY long post. What a week… The map below is just a sample of where we’ve been and why the blogging is so far behind. Grab a coke, some popcorn, and let’s dive in eh?

Monday was an awesome engagement session that will be coming soon, but not just yet….

Tuesday was a great afternoon down at Henderson Beach in South Walton County with the talented Alison Bynum who is a fantastic photographer in the Nashville, TN, area. Alison was vacationing with her mom, brother and her beautiful baby Norah who is 14 months old. Dad was on a mission trip oversees, but I’m sure he will appreciate a brand new photo of his two girls when he returns…

Alison was also gracious enough to do some shots of the Leytham family in return. Here’s a little collage…

Thanks for dinner Alison! Call us next time!

Wednesday was a family shoot at Pensacola Beach that is on the “To Blog” list

Thursday was probably one of our favorite weddings of all time with Erin & Eric. There will be a lot more on this soon….

After our wedding Thursday, we left for Atlanta at midnight due to a meeting at noon on Friday. My appreciation to the Holiday Inn Express for letting us check in early at 6:30AM for 4 hours of sleep. While in Atlanta, Wes’ cousin Melanie and her husband Danny are expecting a baby boy soon, so it was a perfect time for a maternity session. We headed over to their townhome in the Sandy Springs area Friday afternoon and had a great time… You look beautiful Mel. Can’t wait for the newborn session too!

Saturday was a dash back to the Baytowne Wharf area of Sandestin for a shoot with the Dohman family from Louisiana. The Dohman’s are celebrating their 50th anniversary this week by having all of the kids and grandkids join them for some fun and sun. Here is a sample for them to hold them over until they return home….

How precious is this little one at 8 weeks old?

This week involves two more trips to Destin and one to Gulf Shores. Stay tuned for more ;-)

Erin & Eric

and a lot more coming soon!

Wesley’s new baby

The blog is a little slow since we have a couple of weekends off, but we have a ton of family shoots coming soon that will keep the blog going. In the meantime, Wes made the most of his weekend off by racing his new baby in Gulfport, Mississippi for the 2007 Challenge Cup representing the Pensacola Yacht Club. Wes has been a sailing fanatic since he was a teenager and fell in love with this boat since he first saw one about 15 years ago. We found out his friend and former boss wanted to sell his recently, and could not turn it down knowing how great of a boat it was. These were made the weekend we took ownership. Wes wanted to name it something fast and photography related, so we thought ZOOM was appropriate.

Avery really digs it too….

The Challenge Cup is sailed every year when all of the Yacht Clubs along the Gulf Coast from Louisiana to Florida send 3-4 boats each to compete in 3 days of hard core racing. While Pensacola Yacht Club came in 4th overall, Wes and the previous owner of the boat came in 1st in their class bringing home some great trophies and big smiles. The following were made by spectators in Gulfport this past weekend and posted on a public website.

Getting lined up for a beautiful start….

Here’s Wes in the middle…. #294 on the sail

Debra and Joey at Pensacola Yacht Club

It was a warm, yet beautiful day at the Pensacola Yacht Club for Debra & Joey’s wedding. We had a lot of fun too. This was our first Jewish wedding and it was a great one. I really enjoy learning about religious traditions! And, just wait until you see the cake!

Doesn’t Debra look sassy?! She is wearing a gorgeous Pronovias gown she found at The Bridal Loft in Pensacola! I LOVE Pronovias!!

And, here’s Joey looking all GQ…

They saw each other before the ceremony so we could get all the photos done.

This is part of the Bedeken ceremony where the groom makes sure the Bride under the veil is HIS bride. Debra tried to confuse Joey a bit! LOL!

Here’s their Ketubah…it is the legal document for their marriage.

Mr. Big Band played for the ceremony and reception. They were awesome. I highly recommend them!

Don’t Debra’s parents look happy? They had a great time that day too.

The banquet room looked amazing with these florals by Elaine Gillis.

I told you the cake was amazing! This is another gorgeous and tasty Betty Weber cake. I just love the color and decoration!!

There was a sweet first dance…

And then the real party started!

Brooke’s Bridal Session

This beautiful young woman came in from Texas recently for her bridal session at Baytown Wharf in San Destin. I cannot recommend this location enough for an engagement session as well. We just played around and had a great time for an hour before a really nice dinner with Brooke and her mom Terri. She and Tim will be getting married next month at the San Destin Hilton, with planning by the awesome ladies at “It’s a Shore Thing“. This should be quite the event! Stay tuned.

Brooke gave us the ok to post a few. I think Tim has his orders :-)

Coming this week - Deborah & Joey at PYC

Tiffany and Rick at Steelwood

Our wedding this past weekend was at the gorgeous Steelwood Golf Resort in Loxley, Alabama. It was a beautiful day full of purple. I am partial to purple….it was the color of mine and Wesley’s wedding! The florals were by Zimlich Brothers Florist in Mobile. The gorgeous wedding cake was made by Sharon Tobin of Sweet Creations by Sharon in Gulf Breeze, FL. Rick gave Tiffany the most beautiful wedding gifts I have seen. They came from Pensacola’s Jewelers Trade Shop and they are certainly a “girl’s best friend!” The chef at Steelwood really outdid himself. There was cornbread and fried okra greeting guests at their table. There were beautiful and tasty passed hors d’oeuvres of crab cakes and seered tuna. And, then guests filled their plates with fried chicken, fried green tomatoes, cheese grits, raw oysters, boiled and sauteed shrimp, and chicken skewers. Last but certainly not least….Danielle and her team of Bliss Event Group coordinated the day! They are always such a pleasure to work with!

I really love these bouquet shots. Purple purple purple!

The chapel was a quaint building tucked in the woods of the resort.

This fisheye photo makes it look bigger than it is, but there were only 4 rows of chairs.

Gorgeous afternoon light!!

Petit fours from Pollman’s Bake Shop adorned each place setting.

Shameless plea for votes!

I entered a photo in the SWS blog photo contest. They had so many great entries that they have decided to ask for votes HERE. There are some fabulous entries, but I am quite partial to cheerios. I really do love cheerios. I like honey nut cheerios too…they are my favorite. So, if you like cheerios, vote for #8. They baby in the photo is quite cute too. :o)

PS….hurry up and vote! Voting closes on Wednesday night.

ETA .. …. …. …  WE WON!!!  By one vote!  It was so close that SWS gave us both prizes.  YAY!  Thanks for voting everyone.  We LOVE SWS.
