It’s been about 10 years since we went to Disney during the holiday season, so we thought this year would be a grand opportunity to combine it with a destination wedding. I must say that Disney brings out the kid in me, especially when the Christmas lights are up. The best part of this time of year is Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party. On select nights, they close the Magic Kingdom to everyone except for special ticket holders. Then from 7 til midnight, they hand out free cookies and hot chocolate, open all the rides, give a special fireworks show, and pump fake snow onto Main Street during the parade most only see on tv Christmas morning. It is a grand time if you ever get to make it.
Some of these were with our point and shoot and the rest were with our old 20d for you photogs…. no judging the quality
We stopped to have dinner with our friend and photographer Mary Beth Tyson in Tallahassee on the way down. If anyone is looking for a new blog to stalk, she is a fantastic!

Cinderella’s Castle is absolutely beautiful this time of year….

The lights change all through the night

My mom and Avery were trying to catch snow while waiting for the parade

These last three were actually made on the back lot at Hollywood Studios (formally MGM) These lights used to be in one family’s yard, but the city forced them to stop because it was just too much of a disruption to traffic. Soooo, they donated everything to Disney who displays them annually. These photos cannot even begin to emphasize how grand this was in person.

Along with a romantic vow renewal in Destin….
