Disney Christmas

It’s been about 10 years since we went to Disney during the holiday season,  so we thought this year would be a grand opportunity to combine it with a destination wedding.  I must say that Disney brings out the kid in me, especially when the Christmas lights are up.  The best part of this time of year is Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party.  On select nights, they close the Magic Kingdom to everyone except for special ticket holders.  Then from 7 til midnight, they hand out free cookies and hot chocolate, open all the rides, give a special fireworks show, and pump fake snow onto Main Street during the parade most only see on tv Christmas morning.  It is a grand time if you ever get to make it.

Some of these were with our point and shoot and the rest were with our old 20d for you photogs….  no judging the quality ;-)

We stopped to have dinner with our friend and photographer Mary Beth Tyson in Tallahassee on the way down.  If anyone is looking for a new blog to stalk, she is a fantastic!

These last three were actually made on the back lot at Hollywood Studios (formally MGM) These lights used to be in one family’s yard, but the city forced them to stop because it was just too much of a disruption to traffic. Soooo, they donated everything to Disney who displays them annually. These photos cannot even begin to emphasize how grand this was in person.

Blog Update

We hope everyone had a Merry Christmas!  We thought we were prepared this year having to be out of town the week before Christmas, but as usual we have found ourselves playing catch-up from the holidays.  You’ll see a new look coming to the blog for 2009 with some minor changes soon.  It’s going to be another great year with some fabulous weddings thanks to Bliss Event Group and It’s a Shore Thing.   I’m going to do a post soon with some thoughts and credits for 2008 and what’s coming from us in 2009.  In the meantime, I have so much to blog about that I don’t even know where to begin. Here’s a sneak peek of a couple of recent events with a lot more to come soon.

Our wedding from Key West is coming…..

Lindsey & Chad

Meet Lindsey & Chad!  This family is like old friends when we have only met them in person a couple of times now.  Lindsey and her mom  have been dedicated blog stalkers all the way from Baton Rouge, LA, for a while, and when she and Chad started planning their wedding, they gave us a call.  They will be getting married in June 09′ with some helpful preparations from the ladies at Bliss Event Group.  They were in town about three weeks ago, and we braved the cold for a quick e-session downtown.  Their wedding is going to be fantastic this coming summer and we cannot wait as usual for it to arrive.

Greetings from Key West

Hi everyone…. We are in sunny 75 degree KW where the pool water is fine!  You may want to avoid this post if you are snowed in at the moment.  We spent a couple of days at Disney this week for some Mickey Christmas magic and then ventured on down to KW for a total of 15 driving hours.  I had so much to share, but 1) My laptop mouse is on the fritz, and 2) our internet connection is only accessible near the pool deck and crashes every time I try to upload a video clip. So here are a couple of photos and I will have a nice post when we return home or I get better internet.

Avery enjoyed the petting zoo at Animal Kingdom…..

A quick shot of the old bridge at Bahia Honda Key on our way in…..

This is the location of the wedding ceremony tomorrow…. Heaven!

I’m off to dip in the pool I’m staring at here while I type before a KW engagement shoot this afternoon. We’ll see ya soon!

Beautiful Flowers – Out of Office

We are going to be out of the office for a few days on our way to Key West for a tropical holiday wedding on December 20th. We are stopping on the way to enjoy a Disney World Christmas with our family for a couple of days, but the blog will not stop. We will have posts along the way and maybe even some video blogging this trip.

But first! Many of you might recognize the beautiful belly below. This is Mrs. Danielle Flowers of Bliss Event Group who is expecting twins before Christmas. We are so sad that we will not be here for their birth. Danielle has been on hospital bed rest for a few weeks, but we managed to wheel her down into the frigid hospital courtyard for a quick maternity session recently. She reads this blog, so if any of you want to send her a hello, feel free to comment away on this post. Congrats Danielle and Kenneth!!! We can’t wait to meet them.

The hospital conference room came in handy too
