What a wedding you’re about to see! This wedding involves everything I love about Florida. Water, boats, oak trees with lots of moss, you name it, it had it. We weren’t sure what to expect since we had never been to Deland, FL before this event, but we absolutely loved it. A small town about 15 miles west of Daytona Beach, it is a quaint, beautiful, old community that is the modern day Mayberry in my opinion. Right in the heart of downtown is the campus of Stetson University which keeps it young and vibrant.
Julia and Ryan are an amazing couple. Their life is about helping others, and Julia is actually the founder/executive director of a non-profit literacy arts program in Orlando called Page 15. They were both just cool and calm as could be in the hours leading up to the wedding. We started with the pre-ceremony photos at Julia’s parents house which is just right down the lake from the main event. The location of everything was on beautiful Lake Beresford at her family’s property. It is actually a residence with a seaplane hanger built onto the back and a ramp leading right down to the lake. This property is going to be available soon for special events, so if you are interested, please let us know and we’ll get you in touch with the right people. Planning and coordination was done by the fabulous Tamuel Cowart from Orlando, and it was beautiful!

Julia was a glowing bride… and her grandmother was just as cute!
Her niece was the flower girl and practicing in the driveway was crucial!
Stunning…..

Let me tell you, lemon drops and honey are great favors for your guests. Two bags lasted us all the way home!
Is this not the most gorgeous spot for a wedding?
The guests arrived 30 minutes prior to the ceremony for cocktails.
Let’s go!
Ryan tried to give Julia a little kisss when her dad handed her over…. she didn’t go for it which is why everyone was laughing ![]()
One of her two sisters having a sweet moment.

This is a vintage Chris Craft that has been restored flawlessly. Those of you who know how much I love boats can only imagine my surprise when I saw this.

They had a couple of the best toasts I have heard to date. I wish I had the video from one of them…..

It was a beautiful sunset on the party….
and there were plenty of fire pits for the guests to chat around.
This band was AWESOME. Plenty of James Brown soul with lots of audience interaction. I hope we get to see them again.
Cake cutting got just a little messy..
Poor Ryan got thrown in the lake toward the end of the night. Luckily, he had his swim cap ready to go!
The guests enjoyed some fireworks before they left….
and then they said goodbye!

Some of you may remember Brittany from her fabulous Bliss wedding last September. We love this family and were thrilled when we found out she and her sister wanted to give mom a surprise photo session for Mother’s Day. They said the old photos of them from way back were just not cutting it anymore. I hope we fixed that for them
If anyone wants to do a session like this for mom or dad leading up to their days, let us know and we’ll make time to update your family photo frames!
